It depends on the country, I suppose. Here (Netherlands) customs did tax my standard shipping from PXS US every time, the last five years. Taxes are 21% of the total costs (including shipping costs) + some handling costs for the shipping company (depends on the amount, but usually 13 or 23 euro), so quite a lot of money.

I always try to calculate on forehand how much it will be, to have some mental rest if I have to pay.
