He also raises an interesting point worth considering: how much of it is the pheromone's effects on others, and how much is it a change in the user's demeanor (selfies or placebo)? As I've said before, it is exceedingly difficult to control for this variable, and the only way we will tighten up the results enough to eliminate placebo is to get more reports. I don't think we can tighten up enough to carve out the selfies, simply because the overwhelming majority people aren't self-aware enough to accurately report those. The obvious ones will pop: "I felt more confident" "My posture improved" but you can't say "my microexpressions were conveying more status" because those are processed way below consciousness.

See, I always felt that was one of the purposes behind pheromones- to also affect the wearer. I know when I'm wearing SS4M I am very conscious of the fact that I feel the need to stand straighter and that I naturally have a more open body language as well as facial expressions. I just want to smile. Those self effects work in conjunction with the scent and the Pheromones affect on others. I have seen more times than I can count where open body language does not alone account for the reactions I've received.
