A while ago my screwcap on my bottle of Alpha 7 split, and clearly there was a gap that formed, so I'm guessing that after this happened it was no longer air-tight.

I left it like this for a few months in an air-tight container thinking no harm would be done, but I've since put plastic wrap over the whole of the bottle including the screwcap and tightly sticky-taped it down.

Question: Do you think that whilst it was left as it was for a few months that the pheromones in the oil-based Alpha 7 mixture could have all evaporated out of the bottle? Or because it's oil based, and not alcohol based, that the pheromones would be more stable and less evaporation would have occured?

Also, I should add that this is a fairly old Alpha 7 bottle too. It is from 2007. But the cap never started splitting until last year. The cinammon scent is still strong after I apply it, but I'm still not sure if the pheromones are doing their job from this bottle anymore.

i think if the scent is still present then the mones should be as well ...

but you have to play around with it a bit to see if it's still working ..

I have the same problem with my Alpha 7 bottle. I don't keep mine in an airtight container (Maybe I should though). I wore it the other day with some scented Scent Of Eros and it was still fine. I did notice that the mone smell was alot stronger too.

Well, gave it a couple of tests and the jury is still out. The potency may have weakened, so I may need to up the dose to 3-4 drops and retry. When I tested it was combined with A314, so will need to test further on it's own. But not too worried as there is only 20% of the bottle left, so I can always re-order it or be adventurous and try something new from Liquid Alchemy instead...
