I'm trying to figure out what's the difference between an olfactory receptor in the skin and just another g-protein coupled receptor in the skin that happens to interact with a molecule (as many do.)

Can anyone explain whether this is really groundbreaking? It's seemed obvious for a while that olfactory receptors were found elsewhere in the body.

Interesting read, if true, this would explain why Black women tend to respond way more vigorously to mones than other demographics.
