There is a lot of things that are harsh on the liver, take advil for example. Too much advil is harmful for the liver, as is alcohol, and a variety of other things (Fast food?). I believe that it is supposed to only be harsh on the liver at large continuous doses, and not so harmful when taken as recommended.
