Is it better to be humble and rise to the top of be confident and alpha your way

Disclaimer: Humble and alpha can be one and the same. In no way do I mean a humble person can't be alpha. I am merely trying to pose two cases.

1) Be humble, never show off, develop your skills, never ask for big bucks, and make it to Hollywood like Depp and be worth millions.

2) Be confident, be arrogant at times, be a strong negotiator, and fight for what you believe in whether it's negotiating a higher salary or dealing with adversity. This gets you friends and enemies, jealousy, hot babes, etc It also requires some degree of shameless self-promotion , or should I say intelligent marketing.

In terms of acquiring peak wealth, fame and riches, sex with models, etc. which method do you think would work for 99% of the world who are not 1 in 700 million?

I vote for #2.

I'm pretty sure that there are multiple ways to succsess, happiness and fulfillment, and that different people will use different paths. So both ways - and any mixture between these extremes - has its own rights, as long as it is working for the person.
The tricky part is to find out what is working for yourself.
I think I use different paths on different social settings: at work, among friends, among family, in clubs, in conflicts....

Don't blame gravity for your stumbling - learn to walk!

(for everyone else that doesn't know us, Dsouza and I have a decent friendship/ mutual respect thing going, so he will take the following with grace, humor, and give excellent counters)

Given the two, neither one is superior-- be a beta or be an Alphole ®.

One can be confident and have a sense of self-worth, never compromising, without fighting, without being the aggressor, and without being an arrogant prick. Likewise, if you know any real badasses, they don't advertise it, they won't walk around putting everyone else in their place, and they use their competence to inspire greatness in others, not jealousy.

My opinion, always be your best self, never let anyone compromise you or your standards, and always follow the 11th commandment, thou shalt not be a douche.

Hiya Gladen!

Every Badass I've known has been mean at some point (though rarely) but #1 also praised me more than put me down, and #2 was happy of my success not jealous of it.

I think of a PUA friend I have here in Toronto. He scores with women left and right. He's been in business with the Godfather of the PUA industry (Ross Jeffries), he lives 10 min away from me, and he's one of my best friends here in Toronto. He's been successful in many fields including acting, pua, dj'ing, music, English teacher, Bodybuilder, Model etc etc.

HOWEVER, although he may not put me down, with people who shit on his business he'll bad mouth about them to me. He'll tell me to cut ties with them.

Overall I would still consider him very alpha and caring, but he's not the type who'd avoid standing his ground even if that meant losing his cool at times (especially in a nightclub if he gets challenged by someone trying to pick up his catch while he's talking to her -- cockblock). For example, if they challenge him during pickup he'll say "Can I have a word with you?" in a serious Clint Eastwood tone, then they'd say "Yeah you wanna take it outside?", then he'd say "sure let's go". Once they get out the door of the club the cockblocker is thinking he's going to run shit on this guys game but before he can my friend will immediately grab him by the neck and lift him an inch off the ground. LOL. At that point he told me several guys started urinating their pants. J/K.

Do you honestly believe real badasses never lose their cool?

Only in the movies my friend.... only in the movies. That's acting. In their day to day life you don't know what goes on behind closed doors.

Case in point: Depp vs Heard.
