I've commented before on the A1/Androstedienone effect of raising cortisol levels in women. I've also read that there is an inverse relationship between cortisol and testosterone. When the body makes more cortisol, it makes less testosterone. This may link with the depression that can be related to low testosterone levels in men.

However,
I don't know what A1 does in men, i don't know if it raises cortisol levels like it does in women.

I just posted in "single molecules" that 7-keto (as a supplement, not pheromone) completely prevents/cures my A1 depression. Perhaps I should have looked here first.

Interesting. 7-keto is an 11-beta HSD inhibitor which prevents the conversion of cortisone to cortisol. And may have other effects as well, but that's what I'm aware of.

There are quite a few studies showing psychological activities outside of its antiglucocorticoid effects; it also induces certain theromogenic enzymes (why it originally was studied), reverses scopolamine induced memory impairment, decreases voluntary alcohol consumption, etc.
It's been theorized that some of these effects may be mediated through its own nuclear receptor (or one shared with DHEA). There's been a lot of research lately into the neuroactivity of DHEA, and whenever an effect of DHEA is established, its usually found that 7-keto or another metabolite does the same with a stronger affinity. Just food for thought. There's a growing group of people taking 7-keto for depression now.
