I am here on middle ground.
In general I am pro-vac and got the shots early. However I am also highly libertarian, so I have a strong opinion for personal freedom and responsibility. The way in which the vacs where mandatory in so many places of the world was imho bad. I don't believe in malevolence by the authorities, but believe that they are just incompetent.
The worst thing is, that we don't discuss any lessons learned, especially on the origin if the virus. There are most likely tens of thousands of wet markets in China ore even Asia at large, but only one Institut working with humanized corona viruses. The probability ratio of the lab leak theory is by tens of thousands times higher for the lab leak than for the zoonotic origin. Yet we don't discuss what to learn from the past. 100% human hybris and therefor we are doomed to relive this in 10 - 20 years. With bad luck, we don't get such a "friendly" virus with an R0 of 2 and a lethality of 0.1 to 1%. It could be over 50% lethality like the hemorrhagic fevers and R0 of 20 like measles. That would be a pandemic.
Meanwhile everybody should take the responsibility over their own health and avoid the non-commutable diseases RW mentioned. They are the real killers.

Wrong. They're combined because there similar diseases that will occur repeatedly every year. Plainer and simpler.

I dont know what US news is like. But I keep my eyes on some outlets, I can't remember the last time I saw a covid death count. Furthermore, what possible reason does anyone have now to inflate the numbers? Wheres the incentive. No one cares about covid anymore.

So, I've waited a month to post this, hoping someone else would also see it, but alas, that was not the case.

Apparently, a Chinese owned lab in California was creating bioengineered mice to contract and carry Covid.

Why hasn't this been front page news for the past month?

"A monthslong investigation into a rural California warehouse uncovered an illegal laboratory filled with infectious agents, medical waste and hundreds of mice bioengineered "to catch and carry the COVID-19 virus," according to Fresno County authorities.

Certain rooms of the warehouse were found to contain several vessels of liquid and various apparatus," court documents said. "Fresno County Public Health staff also observed blood, tissue and other bodily fluid samples and serums; and thousands of vials of unlabeled fluids and suspected biological material.

Hundreds of mice also were found at the warehouse, where they were "kept in inadequate conditions in overcrowded cages" with no food or water, according to court documents. An associate with Prestige Biotech told investigators the mice were "genetically engineered to catch and carry the COVID virus," the documents added.

Ultimately, what we did find is some viruses, such as HIV, COVID, chlamydia, rubella, malaria, things of that nature," Zieba said.
