Well, empathy, since you revived this thread; I'd like to both agree and disagree with you on this one.
On the one hand, you are correct; those that have status and popularity probably won't utilize pheromones, as they already have it. If you are looking at it from merely that point of view then you are correct.
However, I could see several actors and musicians (in specific) using pheromones for other purposes. An actor that is normally reserved (and believe me, there are plenty of them) might use some to play a part that is more boisterous, outgoing, etc. Likewise, lots and lots of musicians do things to help get themselves into the proper mindset to perform. As I think you know, there is a lot more to being a stellar performer than just playing good music; one needs to electrify the audience if they want to succeed. In that instance, putting on a self-effect heavy social, or a beautifying blend to get one in the mood to strut their stuff on stage would be a boon.
Myself, I've used pheromones on stage before; not for the effects on the audience (obviously), but for the psychological boost i get from slipping into that personal enhancing aura.
