RE: Can pheromones change your personality type?

Personality in it's narrow psychological meaning (big five or MBTI ) is a quite stable trait, or better a collection of traits. But no one is on a point, but rather oscillates / fluctuates around his/her average on each of the traits (like extrovertion, openness, agreeableness etc.). So you never be exactly at the same degree of extrovertion, for example. Most people are anyhow quite average, similar as most people are average in height or attractiveness - it's always the extreme ends of a spectrum that draws the attention.
So day to day changes of external (e.g. workload, family/relationship stress/fulfillment, weather, physical exercise, nutrition, disease) or internal (thoughts, hormon and neurotransmitter levels, sleep etc.) can change the momentary position on each traits spectrum. Among these influences are also the pheromones we perceive, the natural and the artificial ones.
In my experience the long term use (like 3 years now) changed my personality a bit. Not extremely, but I think I'm a bit more extroverted, more bold, less agreeable, more open. But I'm not sure if that is the direct action of the pheromones, or the reaction to the experiences I made through the mones. Even in the adult brain there is a fair amount of neuroplasticity, the brain remodels based on the experiences we have. Repeated increased assertiveness throu 'alpha' mones make you more assertive even without any additional mone, I think.
Then there is the fact that all our behavior is in a close interaction with the behaviors of the people we are surrounded by. A lot of these we are seeing and interacting with on a regular basis. To stay with the agreeableness - assertiveness spectrum: if they see you shifting to a more assertive behavior (by Androstenone and Androsterone use) , they adjust their behavior towards your, on which in turn you adopt your behavior. Over a period of time your "normal" is shifted.
A third aspect is based on an observation I recently made. I observed, or at least think that I did, that I get 'respect hits' from men and women with the classical 'alpha' mones, even outdoors and upwind, like from people heading to me. By no means they have had any contact to my mone signature. But I had. So I think, that the self effects lead to a different body language, e.g. higher body tension, more energetic movements, a more serious facial expression and so on. The modulate behavior of the other people is than just a reaction to the own behavior changed by the self effects of the mones.
So yes, to a certain extent the prolonged use of pheromones can change your personality. They are neuromodulators at the end, and the wearer gets the highest dose.
Don't blame gravity for your stumbling - learn to walk!
