This is a technically written review of a very technical paper, which I have just requested. However, there may be some people here who can read between the lines of the abstract(s) to arrive at an interesting link from androstenol to estrogen levels in humans.

Dug up this study and found esteemed JVK already linked it here.

Essential reading for every phero-enthusiast, astonishing that it did not provoke more responses

So if I'm understanding this correctly higher androstenol production indicates or signals higher estrogen levels? But don't both men and women produce androstenol? This seems contradictory. Furthermore, the research that I've read has found a distinct pheromone conversion sequence, namely DIENONE -> Androstenone -> Androsterone -> NOLS. So if Nols can be converted from Androstenone how can it be estrogen dependent?
