Harassed or sexually assaulted Egyptian women often find little help in fighting back. Neither the Egyptian government nor much of Egyptian society itself seems shocked or galvanized by lewd catcalling in public, groping, or more serious assaults.

Yes because men just can't control themselves when a woman even smells nice..gah with that logic I'm sur ethey'd be on a witch hunt for this forum!

In The Scent of Eros: Mysteries of Odor in Human Sexuality, we discussed some of the Biblical (and other cultural) restrictions on women that correlate with reduction of pheromone distribution (pp.155-157). Historically, it's the women who have been distracting to the men, who can't seem to resist the appeal of their natural scent. Current research findings support the likelihood that women know this, intuitively. They wear skimpier clothing when their natural scent is most attractive (during their ovulatory phase). --not that there's anything wrong with that.
