Ok, so I'm a metal head and a country boy redneck, but I was listening to some of my older tunes tonight and I think this is one of the best songs ever recorded:

England dan and John Ford Coley - We'll Never Have To Say Goodbye Again

Ok, so I may not have the best judgment because I love this one by Seether too:

I have fond memories of watching reruns of "The Monkees" on Nickelodeon way back when! Smile

Canadian Bands

Thanks Quiet Guy. If you liked the Nick Gilder song, he's from Vancouver, Canada, and here's a few more songs that you'll probably recognize that he wrote, but were popularized by other musicians.

Written for and popularized by Pat Benatar:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/qzCDsw8s8cA&amp;rel=0&amp;fs=1" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/qzCDsw8s8cA&amp;rel=0&amp;fs=1</a>

Written for and popularized by Scandal:

How about one that's all his:

And how about a couple more super bands from our northern neighbors

RUSH! Listen to the lyrics! These guys have something profound and important to say in almost evry song.

More of Canadian Bands
07-19-2010 6:37 PM

We ain't done with Canada yet!

I'd be relinquent if I didn't mention Triumph! By the way, both Triumph and Rush are 3 man bands!

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/FR7fLk1kyKM&amp;rel=0&amp;fs=1" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/FR7fLk1kyKM&amp;rel=0&amp;fs=1</a>

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/nn_yRlYVnUw&amp;rel=0&amp;fs=1" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/nn_yRlYVnUw&amp;rel=0&amp;fs=1</a>

Alright damnit, back to RUSH! This song was written after they were at Cape Canaveral in 1982 to watch a Space Shuttle launch. Just for a bit of trivia, it was the Columbia, which disentragrated over Texas in 2003.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/HnD2VUo16PQ&amp;rel=0&amp;fs=1" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/HnD2VUo16PQ&amp;rel=0&amp;fs=1</a>

This one is one the final tribute bum at the end, part 2, but is's such an awesome song that I had to separate it;

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/ClXmeaUtdow&amp;rel=0&amp;fs=1" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/ClXmeaUtdow&amp;rel=0&amp;fs=1</a>

And one of their early songs, from 1975. Yep, 35 years and their still around and still going strong!

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/17t4bSaMvl4&amp;rel=0&amp;fs=1" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/17t4bSaMvl4&amp;rel=0&amp;fs=1</a>

And how about this one from 1980:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/MdLUx_F2FUA&amp;rel=0&amp;fs=1" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/MdLUx_F2FUA&amp;rel=0&amp;fs=1</a>

The 90's they seemed to get a little lost, as I think you can see in this song from 1991:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/JloLAU5FgUQ&amp;rel=0&amp;fs=1" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/JloLAU5FgUQ&amp;rel=0&amp;fs=1</a>

And on into 1996, with this one. It's still RUSH, but just not with the hard hitting power of their earlier works.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/srFPAXZhlqI&amp;rel=0&amp;fs=1" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/srFPAXZhlqI&amp;rel=0&amp;fs=1</a>

Still, 35 years and their still playing concerts. I saw them in 2007 and they didn't have a warmup band. They played for an hour, then took a 15 minute break and came back out and played for another hour and a half, until the venue shut them down! Apparantly they had an agreement with the city that concerts would not go beyongd 11:00 PM.

So ahow about we go back to one of their greatest albums ever (2112 from 1975) and show a final tribute to one of the greatest bands ever?

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/z9QuGI0a2Lw&amp;rel=0&amp;fs=1" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/z9QuGI0a2Lw&amp;rel=0&amp;fs=1</a>

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/iY9Xy9nuP-8&amp;rel=0&amp;fs=1" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/iY9Xy9nuP-8&amp;rel=0&amp;fs=1</a>

And I just realized that I didn't include my 2nd favorite song by Nick Gilder (Metrro Jets), and there's nowhere that has a video of it.

Well damnit, that's never stopped me before. Big Grin So, I'm uploading ALL of my Nick Gilder songs for anyone that wants to listen to or download them.

Metro Jets, Got to Get Out, Roxxy Roller and Electric Love are also among my favorites, but their all good!

Here's the link: Nick Gilder Tunes

And screw it, once these are uploaded I'll start putting up the rest of my 6000+ song collection too. Big Grin

They'll be here; My Music Collection
