So am I. Typing on a phone sucks rocks anyways - especially if you are writing a longer text.

Aside from that, I have to admit that I actually hate forums - not the people in or running them, but the technology, the view and most other things about the look and feel. From way back, I have always been a Usenet-buff. Really retro, I know. But for some reason, I never found any forum that could compare to the Usenet and a good newsreader (my personal favourite is slrn).

The reader lets me choose what I want my stuff to look like, ranging from graphically rich to simple but fast text mode (as in vt-100, which is my favourite). When I visit my community I care about what the people have to say (or write) and not about the graphical crap around that. I don't mind pleasing looks, like graphic emoticons or avatars, but I'd be willing to sacrifice them for a fast, no-bull interface that I can navigate swiftly using only my keyboard. slrn offers that for the Usenet and I don't spend any real with time scrolling either while I use it.

And "back then", people had threading. I know, sounds like Grandma's knitting, but it's not! Big Grin This has been around for more than 25 years, probably much longer, but no forum actually uses it. If you're used to threading, you think you are back in the dark ages without it - especially if you compare the performance of slrn on an Intel 80486 with a "modern" forum on an AMD64.

Tapatalk doesn't have threading, but many advantages over the Browser: It makes far better use of the room on the screen (which is kinda in short supply anyway), uses less resources than the browser, is faster and puts all you forums in one place.

I hope you don't take this the wrong way!!! What makes a forum or newsgroup good are the people in it, not the interface!

My Galaxy Note is running Cyanogenmod 9 (Android 4.0.4). Pretty cool stuff. But I think I'm going to change the launcher.

I flashed back to a semi stock 4.0.4 Verizon ROM for my S3, but I think I'm going to flash the Paranoid Droid Jellybean ROM in the next day or two and see how stable it runs, and what works and what doesn't. Smile

BTW, if you're running CWM recovery, take a look at TWRP2. It's pretty cool!

No, you don't need it. But it would still be cool. I don't know how Tapatalk does on iOS though. Personally, I think iOS is evil, but that's just me. Blum

I'm currently on iOS6 and tapatalk says the plugin is out of date

Also says for the latest posts that "server has some issue with Tapatalk or your session is expired. If this problem persists, please re-enter this forum from Account tab."
I reentered but it still fails.

I just checked and we have the latest version of the plugin, so it looks like its probably an iussue with the new Apple OS.

I was using an iPhone forum app called "Tapatalk" Yetusing Safari browser is way better and gives me access as if I'm on my laptop.
