i have always wanted to know this.......Id like to know guys and girls opinions on this

for those of you unfamiliar with preppy -


this of course is an exaggeration, but tight shirts and polos....... styled hair........ sweaters....... designer brands...... flip flops.....etc (pretty boy look)

in middle school and high school i was a prep.......and i didnt get much attention...... im still a prep but i get much more attention (yes take in account changing looks, confidence..... building muscle..... etc.)

hmm, most of the time yes I have a hard time telling if the guy is gay or not. LOL I had a really big crush on this guy once at the beginning of college but never approached him, he looked pretty straight to me, but then I figured out that he was gay lol. And then I had a crush on my teacher who is also preppy, rolls his eyes all the time, does the hand shake thing when he hears something stupid and I thought that he was gay...but he wasn't!!! LOL go figure!

So I think it really depends on how you carry yourself!...lol

I think that depends on where in the world you are... In Scandinavia most guys try and dress like that.... Big city boys take it a li'll too far sometimes though in my opinion.

Wear the same in Oz and oh yeah.... Can you say Poofter?

No I dont think it looks gay. It depends on the guys mannerisms while he is wearing it though. It also depends on taste. Some women go for the leather and jeans bad boy look and some like preppy guys.

Not to me, lots of guys here dress like that (North-West Europe). I've heard people (men, actually) call it gay but that's mostly envy because women seem to fall for this look, I know I do

I find that preppy guys dont look gay, it is more of a metro-sexual look imo. I will be honest though. If there is one group I stereo type, it is the preppy boy.

I work with a couple of Yuppies and there are many prep dressers in there. I find that I am often attracted to the handsome well dressed man, but will likely not give them a second thought. I find a prep to be most often a lil self absorbed and just plain to much work. I know, I know, I am coming off as a cruel sounding B****. But why waste my time when a guy enjoys looking pretty on a regular basis and spends more time on himself and his look then I do

Now I know this is super harsh, and Bond I love you and will always be your toy so I am not directing this at you...there is a difference between an extreme preppy and a guy who looks good. Oh but other ladies do like this look, but for me it isnt totally my cup of tea based on amount of excess work involved lol.

Ok I am harsha nd probably not making alot of sense...what can I say I am smittened with you Bond and am now all nervous and giggly girlish. Hehehe, see I dont like this "I am not worthy feeling"


If you have a great attitude and are easily approachable then you arent giving the preppy aura IMO.

I am a lil confused by my crazy answer but will also add....I love looking at a man who wears his preppy jeans well...mmmm....

yes some guys r over the top with how they look...... and spend alot of time on there appearance...... as a result they r self-conscious and can get an overinflated ego. yes, i have alittle bit of that bond-ness(?) high ego/high confidence (dont take no for an answer without a discussion) but i do know what is too far and i keep it in check when necessary. I wouldnt say im rude, but yes i can tell my self my ego is slightly altered..... but rarely do women (some times guys) have a problem with that....... its mostly just alpha females that are referred to as 'uber bitches' that dont like me and my act..........

im willing to accept that though and i do my best to not push in those situations........u girls are tricky though....... just have to find out how much pushing is necessary lol

lol, the guy in the pick is cute...but he's overly-dressed (if he's going for lunch with his friends per say) lol, for office wear - he could get a way with that look. But I mostly prefer jeans and a nice clean top lol if that made any sense
