I've read that this is closely related to Pregnenolone. In fact, it appears that in the 40's when scientists originally discovered Cortisol, they had discovered Pregnenolone at about the same time and put it aside to mess with cortisol.... If that's true, shouldn't it be useful as a phero?

I looked up it's structure and indeed it does have a similar structure to all the other mones that we use. Has anyone here ever tried this one? Seems like it could have some good effects... structure reminds me of dhea.

a priori you might expect high cortisol on its own to be unattractive - low status men (people) are the most stressed of all, because they have little control over their life and are constantly hen-pecked.

but on the other hand, sapolsky points out that to maintain the top rank in a baboon hierarchy is tremendously stressful, and aging, and maybe it can be congruent to be of high status and stressed if other supporting factors are there and check out.

As PheroQuirk pointed out, cortIsol = poor fat balding stressed out little man. Not something you want to project!

And, if used in a pheromone product, could be harmful to ones health..

Some people here believe pregnenolone works as a pheromone, but I don't believe in it at all. In fact, when -neno was added to glace, the effects were disastrous. Coco-glace was an experiment with -neno.. And we all know how well that worked out.

I didn't know that about neno, in fact, this is the first time I've heard this.

I have to say that I've had zero luck with straight neno; I've never got it to work. Even in fairly high doses I don't see the slightest hits.

Weird. Some people on here seem to swear by neno.

What about that beta-androSTANol hybrid molecule? That looks promising. Does it work well?

1. This confuses me but I'm still doing research on this topic. If -neno isn't a pheromone, shouldn't its effects on Glace have been non-existant?

As a hormone, pregnenolone seems to be a GABAergic antagonist, like coffee. The -nols, on the other hand (which the current version of Glace has a ton of, of course) have GABAergic activity. If hormonal activity relates to pheromonal activity, I'm wondering if this means pregnenolone might cancel out the -nols but still have a worthwhile energizing effect.

i.e. -nols are roughly like giving the people around you a bottle of beer. -neno is like giving the people around you a cup of coffee.

I'm still playing around with this idea and would welcome the input of others with more experience in the area such as yourself, Chris. Thoughts?

I am female and have recently started to wear Glace and pregnenolone at the same time. I have noticed much increased attention and improvement of mood by people around me , much more so than Glace alone . I started noticing it when my business partner kept making remarks that people around us seemed attentive and intrigued. I recently noticed at my gym as well that I have a lot more people , especially men , striking up conversations in a very interested friendly way.
I have the 20 mcg strength/ 30 ml bottle and use 3 or 4 sprays with 3 sprays of Glace.
Maybe there is a difference in gender or body chemistry that plays a role as well.
